Flemington Racing Tips

Flemington Race track is arguably Australia’s most famous race course, with races held there since 1840. The 2312m track hosts lots of meetings throughout the year; from the 1000m Black Caviar Lightning Stakes in February to the race that stops the nation, the 3200m Melbourne Cup in November.

Elite members regard Flemington as the most consistent of all Melbourne race tracks and the Elite Gold net profit rate there is in excess of 100% over the past three years.

Races of 1200m or less are run down the famous Flemington straight. Quite often fields will split with some horses staying near the inside rail side and others veering out to the grandstand side of the track. Straight away you are betting on two different races and quite often these straight races are decided by the state of the track (going). Many horses have dominated their side only to be beaten by most of the runners over the other side in the better going.

Fortunately for Elite punters we are all over this before the race starts and our Elite Gold bets in the straight races are making more than 100% profit as well.

The longer races are run on the course proper which has a long sweeping bend before reaching the straight at about the 600m mark. The track is beautifully cambered so outside runners are not disadvantaged especially if they can get cover in the run. But there are idiosyncrasies at Flemington that only Elite’s race-pace dynamics can pick up before the event.
